My grandmother taught me to sew when I was in grade school. She sold Singer sewing machines and enrolled me in a class. The first thing I remember making was a 3 piece suit which I won a National Singer Sewing contest.
I bought my first Janome in the 1980's and took classes and learned to applique. I turned that into a small business selling applique sweatshirts at craft shows.
In 2002 my children were ready to leave home, the opportunity arose and I opened Nancy's Fancys Sewing Corner (which was on the corner of 10th and Main). We are permanently located at 1446 N.W. 5th Street across from County Mart and close to Square Donuts and Clara's.
